I’m Alanna and I am the creator of Pennar Bapur. After moving to Cardiff during the pandemic I learned Welsh online and met lots of wonderful people through that. I am dyslexic and never thought that I’d be able to learn another language but through immerssion, patient help from my Welsh speaking family and lots of practice I am now confident and comfortable in Welsh.

I initially came up with the idea for Pennar Bapur when I was looking for an accessible Welsh language diary to use and couldn’t find something that fitted my needs. So I went about making the first Dyddiadur i Ddysgwyr and tried to make a diary that I would have wanted earlier in my learning journey. After the success of my first diary launch I have started coming up with new products to help more people in different ways.
